Achill GAA would like to congratulate all teams who participated, organised, fundraised and supported the recent Relay for Life event which took place in Davitt Park this weekend. The Relay for Life was undertaken in aid of the Irish Cancer Society with all proceeds going to this worthy cause. A number of teams from all over Achill participated and required a member from each team taking a turn to walk a circuit of the pitch continuously over the 24 hour period. The Relay for Life event started on Friday evening and finished Saturday at 7pm.  Survivors lead the final lap joined by all team members to complete the final circuit. Balloons were released to mark the successful completion of the relay.  A big well done to the Relay for Life committee: Cathy Lynchehaun, Noreen Gallagher, Michael Edward Lavelle, Micheál McNamara, Cathal McLoughlin and Packie McGinty.
