On a glorious evening for football, Johnathan Fadian’s first minute score ensured the home side led for the majority of the game to take the spoils at Davitt Park. Achill had to play much of the game with fourteen men, following a red card for Stephen Grealis. The game was hugely physical from the start, and there were many stand out performances for the green and white, most notably from Brian Gallagher, Eddie Doran and Pete Gallagher at the back. The introduction of Tomás McGlynn between the posts paid dividends also, as he made no less than three excellent saves, ensuring a clean sheet for himself for the evening. A hugely entertaining game from start to finish - a massive result for our lads. Maith sibh uilig!
