Croke Park to Davitt Park 2013 cycle is complete!

Big congratulations to all our 2013 Cyclists who have just completed the 280 km cycle from Croke Park to Davitt Park in aid of Croi and Achill GAA. 

Our cyclists are Ciarán Boylan, Cormac Holland, Brian O'Neill, Bernard Briody, Edward Johnston, Paul Johnston, Jason Sheehy, Shane Ginnelly, Seán Lyons, Tomás McLoughlin, Maeibh McNamara, Eileen Mc Namara, John Joe O' Donnell, Micheál McNamara, Neil O' Donnell, Mártan Ó Mongáin, Anton McNulty, Des Cogan, Pádraig Corrigan, Michael Dara Sweeney, Dónal Mc Loughlin, Francis Sweeney,  Michael Cafferkey and to Michael Lavelle and Tom Moran who joined the cycle in Mayo.

Achill GAA would like to thank our safety team who accompanied our cyclists safely from Dublin to Achill; Lorna Sweeney, Anne McGinty, Hughie McGinty and Packie McGinty and to the members of the Achill Order of Malta who provided an ambulance service along our journey, An Garda Síochána who accompanied us from Newport, to those who turned up at Croke Park on Saturday morning at 7am to send our cyclists off and to all those who turned up to welcome us home this afternoon.

Achill GAA would like to say a massive thank you to all who gave so generously by sponsoring our cyclists it is much appreciated.  

     A massive thanks to our Club Officials, fundraising committee, Bord na nÓg committee, Achill friends of Croi who presented our cyclists with T- shirts ,players from the very young to our intermediate players, those who distributed and collected sponsorship cards and donations over the last number of weeks throughout Achill, to our bag packers who gave up their free time over the Easter weekend in Sweeney’s Supervalu to fund raise for the cycle,Sweeney's Supervalu Achill who provided water, fruit and snacks to our cyclists for the weekend,  Feericks Hotel, Rathowen who sponsored our meal on Saturday, Doherty's Mulranny who provided us with sandwiches and refreshments today, Tonragee National School who provided us with some welcomed refreshments as we faced the final leg of our cycle,  to all those who prayed for a safe journey and fine weather, thankfully those prayers were answered with the beautiful weather we got.

 A final thank you to Micheál McNamara, Achill GAA Chairman whose brain child this cycle is. Micheál has worked tirelessly to coordinate, organise, motivate and encourage our Cyclists with his detailed training schedules, tips and for all his time and attention to detail thank you!!!  Apologies if there is anyone omitted from this list
