Achill GAA awards 2013
Achill GAA had the pleasure of having Darragh O’Se, six times All Ireland Winning Kerry footballer as a speaker at the ball and he was put through his paces by Michael Denis McNamara in a question and answer session where Darragh likened Achill to his own home area!

Darragh O’ Se presented three awards on behalf of Achill GAA and Bord na NÓg on the night. Achill GAA player of the year was presented to Michael Denis Mc Namara, Peter Gallagher was presented with Achill GAA Young Player of the year and Eddie Doran was presented with Bord na nÓg Player of the Year, a huge congratulations to all. Eddie Doran was also presented with the Achill Sports Star of the year.

Achill GAA had a number of items on display in the pop up museum in the restaurant in Óstán Oileán Acla, these included a number of Achill jerseys from days gone by, Mayo jerseys worn by Paul McNamara at minor,junior and U21: the winning All Ireland Minor jerseys worn by Tommy Cafferkey, 1966; Kieran O’Malley, 1978 and Eddie Doran, 2013; Tommy Cafferkey U21 All Ireland minor medal from 1967; medals; Connaught Minor Cup, Mayo Minor Division 5 A shield, Fr Godfrey Achill Inter Minor Cup,  Ted Web Cup, Scanlon Cup, First ever Corn Acla Cup, Corn Acla, Kevin Kilbane Cup, Ciarán Patten Cup, Big Mack Shield, Hackey Cup and Bord na nÓg blitz shields; Green and Red Hall of Fame awards and many, many newspaper articles and photos of winning teams through the years.
