The 4th Achill Sports Ball takes place in Óstán Oileán Acla on Saturday January 14th 2017 at 7:30pm. This year the organisers have secured two well known guests - John Delaney, chief executive of the FAI and former Mayo player and manager James Horan who led the county to two All-Ireland Finals in 2012 and 2013. The annual Sports Ball celebrates the work and achievements of everybody involved in sport in Achill whither it be as a player, coach or administrator. The clubs which make up the Achill Sports Network are Achill GAA, Achill Rovers, Achill Island Golf Club, Achill Athetics Club, Achill Boxing Club, Achill Ladies GAA, Cumann Badoiri Acla, Bord na nOg and Achill Wheelers Cycling Club. Several clubs will present their annual awards on the night and there are also two special awards for the Outstanding Achievement of the Year and the Achill Sports Hall of Fame.
